Pre-op Instructions for

Microblading procedure

 

• Leave bandage on at least 2 hours, or up to overnight

 

• Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly, or redden, it is advised not to make social plans for the same day
• Please wash your hair on the day of your appointment or a day prior
• Please do not drink any coffee or tea on the day of your appointment
• Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo
• If you draw on your eyebrows, please wear your drawn eyebrows to the procedure and bring your favorite eyebrow pencil
• If you have any serious medical conditions such as diabetes, hemophilia, skin diseases, epilepsy, seizures, fainting, narcolepsy, HIV, hepatitis, heart problems, etc., please ask your physician for clearance
• Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face
• Do NOT work out on the day of the procedure
• NO Botox for 4 weeks prior to the procedure
• Stop using Retin-A or AHA products (Alpha-hydroxy acids include glycolic, lactic, tartaric, malic, and citric acids) for 2 weeks prior to the procedure
• No laser or chemical peels for 1 month prior to the procedure
• No microdermabrasion or dermaplaning (physical exfoliation procedure) for 2 weeks prior
• Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure
• Do not use aspirin or ibuprofen for 7 days prior to the procedure
• Stop taking any vitamins for 7 days prior to the procedure
• Do not eat greens and drink green shakes for 2 days prior to the procedure

Post-op DRY HEALING INSTRUCTIONS

DO NOT GET WET FOR 10 DAYS!!!

Some residual swelling is normal for ALL procedures.  Some clients may have no swelling some may have a lot...this is individualized.   Dry skin, itching and tenderness are common after the procedure. These symptoms will dissipate each day and vary on an individual basis. Color will fade/soften 30-50%...the touch up will enhance any area that has faded too much. Healing is specific to each client.  You will receive 1 free follow-up to make sure the application is best. It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every 1-3 years to maintain its fresh natural appearance. If you are out in the sun a lot, use anti-aging creams, Retinol products, Proactive acne products, heavy oil moisturizers, natural elements, regular chemical peels (Glycolic ect..), or exercise frequently, you will probably need a color boost every 6 mos. to 1yr.  The better you take care of the treated area, the longer it will last

 

Do not forget, this is a “dry-heal”

 

Avoid direct water on the treated area for10 days after the procedure. Apply the Vaseline prior to showering only to prevent soaps and shampoos from getting on the treated area. Absolutely NOTHING on the treated area. No makeup, pencils....etc. for 10 days....Apply Vaseline only before showering, remove after showering. After the 10 days.  Avoid scrubbing the treated area for 1 month.

• No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water/chlorine can cause the pigments to fade or change in color.  It is recommended to apply the Vaseline to the treated area/s prior to swimming even after healed to prevent the chlorine water/salt water from penetrating the area.

• For 10 days Only touch the treated areas with squeaky clean hands apply Vaseline before showering. This is a must…we do not want an infection. Use clean tissue or DRY terrycloth towel to blot them dry to remove Vaseline when waterproofing them for showering.
•  
• DO NOT RUB, SCRATCH OR PICK AT THE TREATED AREA, let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off....picking can cause scarring.
•  
• Plan on scheduling your touch-up within the first 6 months.
•  
• Please read second page “healing schedule” before panic calling me ☺ during your healing process. I cannot tattoo on your skin again before 4 weeks of healing.
